A Mansard loft conversion is similar to that of a dormer but utilises brickwork, windows, small leaded dormers, and slates. In properties where a full roof extension can be added, a rear and front Mansard is frequently used. This particular style was introduced by a French Architect called Francois Mansard (1598-1666). This is different from other flat roof conversions, as this doesn’t provide a straight wall. This type of conversion creates a 72-degree angle.

This style of conversion is incredibly popular in London, or more built-up areas, as they provide great space whilst being one of the best options for semi-detached, or even terraced, houses. This style of conversion is also usually done to the rear of the property.

The Mansard loft conversion is a great way to extend your space and keep a nice balance in your new loft room. The Mansard loft extension is a better option if your goal is to add height rather than additional space.

Give us a call to discuss what you need from your loft conversion. Our team can recommend a solution for you and start your project with the rest of our team. We have an in-house structural engineer that can work on designs for your new space. This will then be passed onto our construction team who can start working. If any planning permission is needed, we can help with that too!

We were very pleased with Paul and his team. They were on site every day (despite the freezing weather). The liaised with the scaffolders, skip people and the council. The recent rain and snow have been a good test of the work and we're very pleased with the outcome.

There was one minor problem with the work, for which they came back and resolved. All in all, we've very happy and would recommend them to others. N Thomas
